JANINA SACHSE studied Intercultural Communication at Humboldt University in Berlin, specializing in Polish and English (with Turkish as an additional language). She is a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters AIIC and the German BDÜ, an accredited interpreter for the EU institutions and a sworn interpreter.

Janina has been a fan of foreign languages since she was a teenager. Originally from the Odenwald region of Hesse, she discovered her love for the Polish language during a school exchange. She took her first steps as an interpreter, still without any formal qualifications, during youth exchanges and at European Social Forums, where she sat in a booth for the first time and also found the subject for her dissertation.

KAROLINA GOLIMOWSKA was born in Aachen, grew up in Warsaw and now lives in Berlin. She studied at Humboldt University in Berlin and at University College London, then spent time as an academic teacher and researcher in Richmond, Virginia and New York City. She holds a PhD in American Studies from Humboldt University in Berlin.

Karolina is a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters AIIC, the German BDÜ and the Association of Literary Translators Weltlesebühne; she was sworn in as a translator and interpreter by the Berlin District Court.

She is also an author of short prose and journalistic texts, curates and moderates literary events, including for the International Literature Festival in Berlin and the Haus für Poesie, and gives seminars on pop culture at the Freie Universität Berlin. In 2014, she was awarded the German-Polish Tadeusz Mazowiecki Journalism Award.

She enjoys working with languages and mingling between them.

KAROLINA ZABLOCKA completed a Bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics in German and English in Poland and then decided to enroll for a Master's degree in German Studies at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She therefore also has Portuguese in her portfolio. As becoming a simultaneous interpreter has been her dream ever since she turned 12, she then completed a European Masters in Conference Interpreting at the University of Warsaw and took part in a student exchange with the Main University in Germersheim. After having worked as a conference interpreter in Warsaw for 10 years, she has been living and working in Germany since 2014, where she is a senior member of the German Association of Conference Interpreters VKD.

International environment is where she feels like a duck in water. She enjoys working with languages and people. What she likes about her profession is the variety of challenges that allow her to develop and discover new things. She works as a conference interpreter throughout Germany and Europe, as well as locally in Hamburg as a sworn interpreter and translator. She is fascinated by space, science and technology and is happy to work in a factory or any other place that is not generally accessible. She is an enthusiastic interpreter, not only for major events, but also for smaller meetings and during negotiations, where her empathy and ability to relate to the situation and the interlocutors are a great advantage.
